Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School
Christ at the centre, children at the heart
Welcome
We are proud to be part of a wonderful and dynamic team here at Our Lady of the Rosary. We have an emphasis on working hard, challenging ourselves, being independent learners and having fun.
We are a Catholic school and work hard to foster these values in our children. We are an integral part of our whole community and fully reflect the cultural make-up of families in our area.
Families of no faith or other faiths are warmly welcomed.
Each day we encourage our children to work hard, have a positive mindset, learn from mistakes, persevere and feel good about themselves.
Our school is a happy, exciting learning community where everyone is made to feel welcome. We always welcome visits from parents, so please get in touch if you would like to take a tour.

SEND & Safeguarding
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At Our Lady of the Rosary, we believe that every child matters and every teacher is able to support special educational needs.
Children who have additional needs and need extra support in school are given a plan to help them. These are reviewed three times annually.
We have a SEN Co-ordinator in school who liaises with parents and oversees support.
Safeguarding
Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
Staff work hard to maintain an environment where children feel safe and secure. Children know they can approach any adult in school if they are worried and will receive a consistent, supportive response.
Chadwick’s Kitchen

Our award-winning in-house catering team, Chadwick’s Kitchen, provides catering services across the Trust.
- Fresh ingredients are used to prepare healthy and nutritionally balanced meals each day.
- The majority of menus are homemade by chefs in our kitchens.
- Staff are trained to accommodate medical diets and work in partnership with parents.
- Parents and carers can pay for school meals using ParentPay.
- Pupils entitled to free meals can purchase food to the value of the daily allowance.
- Packed lunches are permitted, but nuts and nut-based products are not allowed.
Our Trust
We are proud to be part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust.
The Trust covers the east part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, with schools in East Durham, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Our family of schools work closely together so pupils can flourish, supported by effective transition, close relationships and shared expectations.
