Year 1
Music
Year 1 had an amazing time with Year 5 playing the glockenspiels. We learnt the cords for Baby Shark and Let It Go. It was wonderful to spend time with our friends up in Phase 2.
Computing
The children have really enjoyed learning all about algorithms. They used the beebots to create their very own algorithms!
Personal development – Mental Health Week
The children had a great time getting active for mental health week. We went outside to work as a team to complete our mission to water the plants! We worked hard and developed our communication to make sure everyone worked in unison.
Science
This half term in Science we have been learning all about plants. The children loved going outside to investigate the different plants we have in school right outside our classroom. We talked about the similarities and differences between the plants we could see. The children used amazing scientific vocabulary to discuss the different parts of the plants.
Library Trip
Year 1 had the most amazing time at the library. We got to share stories with our friends and had an amazing adventure story read to us by Peter. The children showed off their brilliant questioning skills and impressed Peter with brilliant answers to his questions. We then checked out two books to bring back to school and we cannot wait to go back!
Commando Joes
The children have a brilliant time in Commando Joes, they have been learning valuable skills which will help them throughout their school life. They have been working in teams and over coming problems together. They have been getting active and using their problem solving skills to complete missions. We cannot wait to see what other missions they take on next half term.
Geography
Yea 1 did not let the rain stop them today! We have been out in our local area looking at human and physical features. We spotted houses, trees, parks and much more on our journey. We then came back to school and drew all the things we found and labelled them human or physical. We then shared a picnic in the hall.
